Dell Adamo Ultra-Thin Laptop Available for Preorder

The 4-pound Adamo features a 0.65-inch profile, aluminum chassis, a 13.4-inch 1366×768-pixel display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and LED backlight, Intel’s ultra-low voltage CPU, Intel GS45 integrated graphics, and a 128GB solid state drive with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit preinstalled.
The laptop is available in two versions - the Adamo Admire and Adamo Desire.
The Admire, priced at $1,999, is powered by the Core 2 Duo SU9300 CPU at 1.2GHz and comes with 2GB of DDR3 memory, whereas the $2,699 Desire includes the SU9400 at 1.4GHz and 4GB of DDR3 RAM. In addition, the Desire sports an HSPA Mini Card for AT&T mobile broadband network.
Other Adamo’s features include 802.11n wireless, Bluetooth and Gigabit Ethernet LAN connections, a 1.3MP web camera, a full-size keyboard with back-lighting, a Display Port, two USB ports and an additional USB/eSATA combo port. Users can also get a separately sold external optical drive.
According to the product description at adamobydell.com, the notebook provides “more than 5 hours” of battery life on a full charge with its 40 WHr Lithium Polymer unit.
The Adamo comes in two colors: Onyx and Pearl.
The laptop will ship worldwide starting March 26, 2009. It can be purchased through Dell.com.
