As you probably know already, Asus' Eee PC is one of the best products of last year, but it's always good to see good products getting better, and that's exactly what just happened with this subnotebook, with the introduction of the new Asus Eee 1000HE, an explosive update to this awesome small portable computer!
Fortunately, the 1000HE doesn't blow up on impact, as it happens with HE rounds, which I am sure you're familiar with, if you've ever been in the Army, or at least if you're into playing serious military simulations/shooters. Unfortunately, you won't be able to play America's Army on the 1000HE, but that's not the purpose of such computers, so no worries about that. Better see what's new with it, don't you think?
Here's the most interesting part of the official press release:

Using the Eee PC all-day has never been easier thanks to its bright 10” LED backlit display and new “chiclet” keyboard that allows for faster and more comfortable typing.
Wireless Internet and File Storage on-the-go
The Eee PC 1000HE comes with WiFi 802.11b/g/n network connectivity for ultimate wireless accessibility and mobility. Bluetooth v2.0 is also included for flexibility and convenience with any Bluetooth devices.

Ta-taaa! 9.5 hours of battery life, one-touch recovery, 802.11n and Bluetooth? Hell, yeah, that's not bad at all for $399, since I am sure prices of older models will get a bit lower with this occasion, so - despite the crisis - I am sure Asus just got themselves a new winner!
