Coming in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, the new SanDisk’s pSSD Solid State Drives designed for mini notebook computer models powered by Intel processing technology come with S-ATA interface for increased performance including faster boot time for applications compared to HDDs.
SanDisk advertises a low price for these Flash-based storage devices, specifying that its 32GB SSD costs at parity with 2.5-inch HDD models.
Starting next month, the new Solid State Drives will be available in stores.
“SanDisk’s Gen 2 pSSD drives have the best combination of capacity, performance, weight, pricing and power advantages to really excite designers, manufacturers and users of netbooks,” said Richard Brown, VP of Marketing, VIA Technologies, Inc. “Our latest reference designs will include SanDisk’s Gen2 pSSD drives, and we look forward to working with SanDisk to aggressively address the netbook market’s needs.”
