Friday, February 13, 2009

So you remember a month or so ago we heard that Dell was prepping an all new notebook to add to its elite Latitude line? Well that notebook (more properly known as a Tablet PC) has become official and carries a bunch of features that is bound to make you drool. Although we can't say the same thing applies to your wallet.

The Latitude XT2 comes with a 12.1 screen (1280 x 800 pixels) that not only supports the regular tablet PC style touch but multi touch as well. You also get an impressive 6-cell battery that gets 11-hours of life on a single charge.

More impressive is the DDR3 memory that can be upgraded to 5GB (2 comes standard). Other features include a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ULV SU9400 processor, Intel integrated GNA 4500MHD graphics, Window's Vista Ultimate, 120GB SATA HDD (5400rpm) or 128GB SSD, 802.11a/g/n WiFi, Ethernet, SATA ODD, eSATA, 2x USB 2.0 ports, Firewire, ExpressCard 54 slot and your usual audio in and out ports.

All this in a package that weighs under 3.8 pounds with the six cell battery.

As we said before, we are not so sure that you will be enthused at the price as it starts at $2,399 in the US. A worldwide release date is expected to arrive within hours.
