ASUS Eee PC 1000HE with 9.5-Hour Battery Coming Soon

Asustek has announced the ASUS Eee PC 1000HE netbook, featuring a 10-inch LED backlight display, a new Intel Atom processor, and a battery life of “up to 9.5 hours”.


The new version of the popular mini-laptop includes the Atom N280 CPU with a 1.66GHz clock speed and a 667MHz FSB, which is up from 1.6GHz and 533MHz of the older N270.


There are also a 160GB hard drive, 92%-sized keyboard, multi-touch trackpad, 802.11n wireless connection, and Bluetooth, as well as an 8700mAH battery and Super Hybrid Engine technology that enables better power efficiency.


The netbook will be initially available in blue and black colors.


The suggested retail price for the Asus Eee PC 1000HE is $399, but Asustek offers $25 off for preorders that will “start soon” at online retailers such as Amazon, NewEgg, TigerDirect and others. The deal is available through February 28, 2009 for registered Official Eee PC Facebook Group members.
