Sprint Offers USB Broadband Modem with GPS Features

Sprint introduced a new USB broadband modem for the EV-DO Rev.A wireless connectivity, which you’ll need in order to connect your portable computer to the Internet for on the go multi-tasking at up to 1.4Mbps downlink and 500 kbps uplink.


It was developed by Sierra Wireless and called USB 598.


The new USB broadband modem is more advanced than similar devices used by telecommunication companies, featuring GPS capabilities and expandable storage.
In those areas where the EV-DO doesn’t have coverage, the gadget switches to the 1XRTT technology so you can rely on it wherever you are.


Sierra Wireless’ USB 598 offers navigation and location applications with information about places of interest where you may spend you time, up to 32GB of storage capacity, LED light indicator, support for both PC and Macs, and installs very easy thanks to Sprint's SmartView automatic installation software.

"The 598U by Sierra Wireless offers enhanced GPS support, microSD card storage and transfer capabilities, along with high speed wireless connectivity via Sprint's Mobile Broadband Network, all in a brand new lighted design that is compact, durable, and visually appealing."


The USB broadband modem is free for a 2-year contract and online purchase from Sprint.
