New Acer TravelMate Laptops Ideal for Business Computer Applications

Equipped for business professionals’ special needs, the new Acer TravelMate 6593 and TravelMate 6493 notebook computers deliver not only high-end functionalities to increase productivity on the go, but also two plug-and-play eZDock II and eZDock II+ docking stations to keep all the tech instruments organized in one place.



Acer TravelMate 6593 is a 15.4-inch notebook computer powered by the Intel Centrino 2 with vPro Technology, more exactly an Intel Core2 Duo Processor T9500 processor model clocked at 2.53GHz, and features an Acer CrystalBrite TFT LCD display of 1280 x 800 pixels, 4GB DDR3 dual-channel memory, the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500 MHD, 250GB 7200 rpm hard drive storage capacity, a DVD Super Multi Double Layer optical drive, a 5-in-1 card reader. Wireless N connectivity, built-in Acer Crystal Eye web camera, and the Windows Vista Business edition operating system pre-installed. The system comes at a retail price of $1,499.


The other model sporting a smaller display of 14.1 inches in diagonal, Acer TravelMate 6493, has a lower retail price of $1,299. The difference between the two notebooks is that the second model has 3GB DDR3 memory.


Common capabilities of the two new laptops include the support for simultaneous multi-window viewing, enabled by the Acer GridVista tool, for up to 8 display windows, and there’s also the Acer MediaBay hot-swappable solution that allows the addition of second hard disk, battery and optical drive.
