MSI UNVEILS ULTRA-THIN X-SLIM 320

Thursday, January 8, 2009

It didn't take long for everyone to spoof Apple's Macbook Air in an envelope ad. But few manufacturers were able to top that. In recent months that has changed and MSI is one of those companies that will be showing off their new ultra-portable at CES which is thin enough to hit in an envelope.

The 13.4-inch system is 0.77 inches thick and weighs in at 2.87 pounds (take that Macbook Air). The system is also outfitted with a 4 or 8 cell battery that has an estimated time of 10 hours (operation). So far there is no specs in terms of processor although Engadget China says its running 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor. 1366x768 is the screen resolution and Bluetooth, 3.5G network card, 3 USB ports, Ethernet, VGA out, all-in-one card reader as well as 2GB DDR2 RAM all make it onto the system and as for release date its slated for second quarter of 2009 for about $800.

Full hands on and specs will be coming within the next few days.
