MSI WIND – GREAT EXPECTATIONS!

MSI wind is one among the most sought after netbooks. Its 10 inch display was a big attraction along with its 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home and a 6 Cell Battery. Its excellent design and affordable price posed a tough competition for other top brands. The best feature is its screen. Big, bright, clear and colorful, it’s a big relief from having to squint your eyes as with other netbooks. The keyboard is also bigger and better than most other similar netbooks. But the MSI Wind has some problem with its balance. It tends to tip backwards when you hold it in your lap because of the heavy 6 cell batteries at the back of the system. You also have trouble with some of the special keys, but they can be ignored when compared to its performance and sleek design. Also MSI Wind is just 2.2lbs making it highly ultraportable.

With its first round of success MSI is planning to unveil MSI Wind U110, U115 and U120 in 2009. There are lots of speculations that are making rounds about the upcoming series including a solid state disk drive, advanced mobile connectivity, 10.2” display with the new Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz, and is supposed to give 10 hours of life with its new low power processor. It will also have a hybrid SSD/HDD, 2GB RAM, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and will weigh just 2.4lbs. With all these stacked up in a netbook you can very well expect its price to be on the higher spectrum. Well, we have heard lots of rumors about lots of gadgets that have turned up sour. So we have to just wait till we can get hold of one for a review. If you are interested in one of the hi-tech MSI Wind’s, you can see them on the shelf by the end of January in US.
