Scandyna’s The Drop portable notebook speakers designed for use together with your laptop computer, as well as other systems, are maybe the most expensive mobile speakers available on the market.
We've found them at LaptopStuff, a UK online store where you can buy one from at around $1,000, a price that I can’t find explanations for at the moment excepting the brand, but let’s see if we can find some of you who have enough experience with speakers and can give us more information about their high quality.

The Drop are practical portable notebook speakers that you can place on a desk or hang from the ceiling or on the wall. They come in several nice colors like white, black, silver, blue, yellow and red for everyone’s taste and would surely look cool in any room environment, making it look more alive, thanks to this unique organic shape.
In addition to the style and a form factor measuring 227 x 525 x 199 mm with spikes, at a weight of 2.3Kg without spikes, Scandyna designed the speakers in such a way to deliver a perfect sound, using the following elements:
- Frequency: Minus 6 db at 50 Hz and 22 kHz;
- Sensitivity 89dB SPL (1w @ 1m) 4 ohm;
- Sound: Compatible with amplifiers from 10w - 100w output;
- Drive units: 125mm long throw bass/midrange, Kevlar piston & 25mm dia free-mounted high frequency;
- Applications: Stereo arrangement, AV, 5.1, multimedia.
The main disadvantage of The Drop portable notebook speakers, if you plan to use them with your laptop computer while on the go, seems to be the size and weight.
