GoToMyPC Enables Remote PC Connection from Your Laptop

There are many computer data protection solutions available for laptop computers, one of which was discussed two days ago when we told you the details about Absolute Software’s ComputraceOne, an active software-based security method installed in the BIOS and that features self-healing capability when the computer is formatted and the hardware removed, as well as self-destruct capability.
It costs just £60 per laptop and is an affordable and reliable solution.
Citrix Systems too has released a solution for people who travel often and need to continue working on the go using their laptop computer. It is called GoToMyPC and would be a good alternative to ComputraceOne, but a very different one. It is the classic remote PC connection method involving keeping all your sensitive data on the home computer while accessing it online remotely.
In order to have a secure connection you’ll have to install the Citrix GoToMyPC software in a few easy steps and while you are far away from home you can simply open the web browser on your laptop and manage all your files.
Bernardo de Albergaria, vice president and general manager of global marketing and eCommerce for Citrix Online, explains:
“With GoToMyPC, business travelers have options. They can either travel with a blank laptop and connect to their files back at the office or simply leave the laptop behind and access their information when they get to their destination from any Internet-connected computer. With GoToMyPC, they don’t have to worry. The data is safe back at the office, and they can reach it anytime from anywhere. They’ll never lose it, even if they lose their computer.”
The remote PC connection software is available for free trial up to 60 days, after which you'd have to spend either $14.95 per month or $179.40 per year.
