The Lenovo ThinkPad R500 15.4-inch business-class laptop with Intel Centrino 2 technology is now available for purchase.
The R500, as same as the 14.1-inch R400, comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo or Celeron processors, the GMA 4500HD integrated GPU, up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 320GB of hard drive storage, a built-in optical drive with Blu-Ray burner option, and the optional Intel Turbo Memory 2.0 module.
The widescreen display of the ThinkPad R500 has a resolution of 1280-by-800 or 1680-by-1050 pixels and an optional web camera mounted on the top of the LCD panel.
Regarding communications, it sports Intel’s 802.11b/g wireless LAN with optional support for 802.11n WiFi standard, a Gigabit Ethernet port, Bluetooth receiver, and 56k modem.
The laptop also has DisplayPort and VGA outputs, three USB ports, Firewire, an ExpressCard slot, and a slot that can be populated with SmartCard, multimedia card, or PC Card reader.
The ThinkPad R500 weighs approximately 6.5 pounds and runs Windows Vista operating system.
