The Lenovo ThinkPad SL300 is an upcoming Intel Centrino 2-based 13.3-inch 4.6-pound ultraportable in PC maker’s new SL notebook line, which balances between business computing and multimedia functions.


The 4.6-pound SL300 laptop comes with the new 45-nanometer Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” processor with a 1066MHz front side bus, up to 6MB of cache, and clock speeds ranging from 2.26GHz to 2.53GHz, depending on model. It will be also offered with 800MHz FSB Core 2 Duo chips.


The ThinkPad SL300 has the Intel GMA X4500 integrated graphics or the NVIDIA GeForce 9300M 128MB dedicated GPU, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, up to 320GB hard drive, and the optional Intel Turbo Memory 2GB module for better system responsiveness. The notebook integrates a Combo optical drive, DVD burner or Blu-Ray burner. Its 13.3-inch LED backlight display provides a resolution of 1280-by-800 pixels.


Regarding networking, the SL300 includes the new Intel 5100ABGN wireless module supporting 802.11n standard or an 802.11a/b/g module, Gigabit Ethernet port, Bluetooth, and embedded mobile broadband in select models.


Lenovo’s ThinkPad SL300 has optionally integrated web camera and fingerprint reader, three USB ports, a PC Card slot supporting 34mm ExpressCard via adapter, Secure Digital slot, Firewire port, and VGA and HDMI outputs.


The SL300 runs Windows Vista OS and will be available beginning in August for a starting price of $899.
