Dell today revealed a number of services for tracking and recuperating lost laptops and shielding receptive data on the machines. The newest offerings are a development of the computer manufacturer's Pro-Support portfolio of services. Dell revealed the support services for businesses in February, as part of its approach of flattering more than just a PC provider. The most recent offerings comprise notebook tracking and recovery, isolated data erasure, hard drive data recovery, specialized data annihilation, fortuitous damage repair, and comprehensive battery warranties. Pro-Support services are serviced by Dell or its partners. In focusing on laptop services, Dell is taking lead of the use of laptops over desktops in the workplace, a tendency that increases the necessity for tighter precautions for mobile PCs.
