OCZ Technology Group has announced its Do-It-Yourself (DIY) gaming notebook PCs, enabling consumers to build their own laptop.
OCZ DIY program allows customers to purchase an unconfigured barebone notebook and customize is to their needs with the help of OCZ’s guides and direct support. Users can select operating system, processor, memory, and hard drive or solid state drive of choice.
A DIY barebone notebook listed at OCZ website - the OCZNBIS15DIYA - features a 15.4-inch display and is based on Intel’s PM965 chipset paired with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512MB video card. It supports, but does not include, Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB of RAM, and 2.5-inch Serial ATA HDDs and SSDs.
Currently, there is no information on pricing and availability.
