Toshiba Launches AMD-Powered Satellite A305D Series

Toshiba has launched the Satellite A305D 15.4-inch notebook PC series, featuring a new design and AMD’s processors.


The laptop maker currently offers two A305D models – the Toshiba Satellite A305D-S6831 with a $949.99 price tag and the A305D-S6835 for $999.99. Unlike the Intel-based A300/A300 series, the both systems include the AMD Turion 64 X2 Gold Edition TL-64 CPU at 2.2GHz, the ATI Radeon X1250 integrated GPU which manages a 15.4? 1280×800 display, 3GB of DDR2 memory, and a DVD burner. A305D-S6831 has a 250GB hard drive, while the A305D-S6835 sports 320GB of storage. Both HDDs spin at 5,400rpm. These notebooks incorporate harman/kardon stereo speakers and a web-camera, which can be used for face recognition.


The Satellite P305D laptops feature the Atheros 802.11a/g/n wireless LAN, an Ethernet port, and a 56k modem.


They have four USB ports with Sleep and Charge functionality, an ExpressCard slot, 5-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, VGA and S-Video outputs, and S/P DIF output port, shared with headphone port.


The Toshiba Satellite P305D start at 6 pounds and provides a full-sized keyboard, as well as the new touch-sensitive multimedia control pad. This notebook features the Fusion finish with Horizon pattern.


The A305D-S6831 and A305D-S6835 come with Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 preinstalled and can be ordered through Toshiba’s official website .
