Laptop Desk Futura

Coming from LapWorks, a known laptop stands manufacturer, has announced the releasing of its new colorful portable stands with improved ergonomics and designed to reduce the heat.

Laptop Desk Futuras have indeed a futuristic aspect and come in 8 different versions: Deep Red, Bustin’ Blue, Passion Pink, Tempting Teal, Largely Leopard, Desert Camou, Jungle Camou and Red Marble.
LapWorks offers these at a price of $49.95 with the option to customize the cooler, gloss finish and the rubber pads. For example you might want a colored stand but with translucent look.

Here’s what Jose Calero, the president of LapWorks said about the printing process:

“We chose a new, highly-specialized UV ink-jet printer that applies a heavy coat of industrial-grade ink to both sides of the Futura that hardens when exposed to UV light. We believe LapWorks is the first to print a three-dimensional product using this process. The printer can reproduce any color or pattern on the Futura, giving us an opportunity to provide a wide variety of choices.”

With a similar hardness with the automotive paint, Futuras’ UV-cured ink adds an extra protective layer against scratches over which they add a final coat of matte or semi-gloss acrylic.

Laptop Desk Futuraweights 16 ¼ ounces and folds into half to 11 x 10 ¾ inches, and is half an inch thick.
