The Everex CloudBook MAX - an improved version of the company’s low-cost ultraportable laptop - will be available in the second half of 2008, according to the product page at Everex’s website.
Weighing less than 2.2 pounds, the Cloudbook MAX features a 8.9-inch display with 1024-by-600 resolution, which is an improvement over the 7? 800×480 screen in the current CloudBook CE1200V model. The MAX incorporates an 1.6GHz VIA C7-M ULV processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory (expandable to 2GB), and an 80GB hard drive. The system is based on VIA’s new VX800 chipset with the Chrome9 HC3 integrated graphics.
This mini notebook incorporates an embedded single chip Mobile WiMAX solution, enabling connection to the “ultra-fast Sprint Xohm wireless broadband network”, as well as existing 802.11b/g WiFi networks.
The next-generation ultraportable from Everex also includes Bluetooth support, GPS receiver, Gigabit Ethernet port and dual built-in 2-megapixel webcams. There are also three USB ports, a VGA output, and 4-in-1 media card reader.
The Everex CloudBook MAX is claimed to deliver up to four hours of battery life.
It runs Windows Vista Home Basic operating system.
Currently, there is no information on pricing.
