ECS G10IL Mini-Notebook Unveiled

Elite group Computer Systems has officially unveiled the ECS G10IL mini-notebooks, featuring the Intel Atom “Diamondville” processor, 8.2-inch and 10.2-inch displays, and mobile broadband (HSPA) connectivity.
The “Diamondville” is Intel’s upcoming single core Atom CPU, designed for use in UMPCs, MIDs, and small laptops. In the ECS G10IL, it is accompanied by the Intel 945 GSE chipset, up to 2GB of system memory, and a hard drive or solid state drive, depending on model.
According to the press release, HSPA (HSDPA/HSUPA) mobile broadband technology, built into the G10IL allows downloads speeds of up to 7.2Mb/s for the HSDPA and 2Mb/s for the HSUPA.
The G10IL mini-laptop, which is expected to compete with the Asus Eee PC 900, MSI Wind PC, and Intel Netbook in the low cost market, also sports an embedded 1.3-megapixel web camera, three USB ports, Ethernet networking, a 56k modem, wireless LAN and Bluetooth, and a 4-in-one media card reader. The notebook runs Linux or Windows XP OS.
Elitegroup Computer Systems, the winner of Mobile Broadband Notebook competition for the Best Pre-Commercial Mobile Broadband Notebook started by the GSM Association, for its G10IL model has announced the Simply Smart ECS G10IL notebooks coming in a new and innovative design with a lightweight and compact form factor available at an affordable price.
The manufacturer chose white for revealing style and unicity while the notebook model sporting a 11-inch display supports tri-band HSDPA and HSUPA technologies, aka Super 3G.
Its future users will have access to a new broadband video technology capable of up to 7.2Mbps transfer speeds for HSDPA and 2Mbps with HSUPA.
There are also three USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet connectivity, the standard modem, WLAN, Bluetooth and a 4-in-1 card reader.
ECS’s Simply Smart ECS G10IL is clearly optimized for Internet access in the mobile environment, so the user will surely use the built-in 1.3MP CCD camera which promises to deliver high quality images with high resolution for the online chat, while the glossy vivid display offers a good enough movie viewing experience.

Here we have a Diamondville processor, the Intel 945 GSE (w/o S-Video) + ICH7M chipset, one slot allocated for up to 2 GB of memory, hard disk drive or solid state disk storage options, Windows XP or Linux operating system options, and a 4-cell or 6-cell battery.
Simply Smart ECS G10IL measures just 259 x 180 x 28.5 mm and its price is around $785.
