A 2.5-inch 256GB Solid State Drive measuring 12.5mm thick translates to the world’s slimmest SSD drive of its kind and it comes from Super Talent Technology from San Jose, California, a Flash storage solutions and DRAM memory modules manufacturer.
The FSD56GC25H model is 40% thinner than all others SSD available on the market and was launched today featuring a standard SATA-I interface to be 100% interchangeable with standard 2.5-inch SATA hard drives.
It is lightweight and durable thanks to the aluminum alloy housing, and supports 0.1ms access times, maximum 65MB/sec sequential read speed and 50MB/sec sequential write speed, supporting 1600G of shock and 16G of vibration.
SSDs made at Super Talent use NAND Flash memory type and deliver faster performance, lower power consumption, are light, low-noise and resistant, which is important for portability.
At the moment, Super Talent Technology offers the SSD drive model via OEMs and the price is available only on request.
“We designed this drive for applications that need rugged and reliable storage in a very compact form factor. This is the world’s smallest and thinnest 256GB SSD”, says Super Talent Marketing Director, Joe James. “This product underscores our leadership in high density SSDs and demonstrates the technical capabilities of our Silicon Valley engineering team.”
