Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Ultraportable Available for Preorder

The Lenovo ThinkPad X300 ultraportable notebook with a 13.3-inch LED backlight display and Intel’s Centrino “Santa Rosa” mobile platform is now available for preorder at select retailers.

According to earlier Gizmodo’s report, the 2.5-pound Lenovo ThinkPad X300 comes with an Intel Core 2 Duo Low Voltage processor at 2GHz, the GMA X3100 integrated graphics, a 64GB solid state drive, and an ultra-thin DVD burner. The ultraportable’s display provides a resolution of 1440×900 pixels.


The X300 has a built-in 802.11n wireless module, a Gigabit Ethernet connection, broadband wireless and WiMax support, as well as Ultra-WideBand (UWB) technology. For video conferencing there is an integrated web camera.


Regarding security, there are a fingerprint reader, the Trusted Platform Module 1.2, and an option to disable ports.


Ports and slots in this notebook include three USBs, an ExpressCard slot, and a VGA adapter. Lenovo’s ThinkPad X300 features a new keyboard with a wide touchpad and TrackPoint.


Leaked specifications say the laptop provides a battery life of four hours and runs Windows Vista or Windows XP Professional operating system.
